Here is a famous song about Yogyakarta. You may notice the difference in spelling. It seems to be a trend to spell Yogyakarta with a "J" instead of a "Y" these days. The film clip is shot in Yogya, so keep your eye out as you will notice many of the famous buildings and attraction that are in Yogya. You may even notice the Dutch influence on some of the Architecture.
Yogyakarta also has a developing Hip Hop culture. Here is a film clip of one of their famous Hip Hop songs. By listening to the song you can tell that they have combined, both Indonesia and Hip Hop culture to craft a unique and new sound. To me this song is an excellent example of what has become to be known as The Third Space. A place where the best of two cultures can co-exist.
